In considering the question of amending the Nebraska State Constitution, I believe it is essential to prioritize the principles of privacy and autonomy, particularly in the context of healthcare. It is my view that every individual deserves the right to make deeply personal medical decisions without undue governmental intrusion. This includes ensuring access to safe and legal abortion, within the framework of protections similar to those once established by Roe v. Wade. The relationship between a patient and their healthcare provider is sacrosanct, grounded in trust and confidentiality. It should be guided by medical best practices and the patient's well-being, free from political maneuvering. In advocating for these principles, my stance is driven by a commitment to the rights of individuals to make informed healthcare decisions in consultation with their providers. This is far more complected than "creating a right to abortion."

The question of medical care for transgender minors is deeply complex and should be approached with the utmost sensitivity and respect for the individuals and families involved. The decision to pursue any form of gender-affirming care, including hormone therapy or surgery, should be made by medical professionals in close consultation with the minor and their parents or guardians. These decisions are based on rigorous medical standards, a thorough understanding of the individual’s needs, and a compassionate consideration of their well-being. Prohibiting such care is not supported by scientific consensus or medical best practices; rather, it appears to stem from a desire to impose specific moral beliefs on others. This approach does not account for the diversity of human experiences or the professional judgment of healthcare providers. It risks politicizing the personal healthcare decisions of families and infringing on the rights of individuals to access medically necessary treatment. Moreover, the focus on this issue diverts attention from the genuine needs of transgender minors, who may already face significant challenges in their lives. It is crucial to prioritize their health, safety, and happiness above political considerations. Policies should be guided by empathy, scientific evidence, and a commitment to supporting all children in their growth and development. Addressing the healthcare needs of transgender minors with care and respect is not just a medical imperative; it is a moral one, reflective of a society that values the dignity and rights of every individual. The suggestion that providing gender-affirming care is harmful ignores the overwhelming evidence of the positive impact such care can have on the lives of transgender youth. It is essential to focus on fostering environments that support their well-being and growth, rather than imposing restrictions that exacerbate their vulnerabilities. In conclusion, the debate over gender-affirming care for minors should center on medical evidence, compassion, and respect for the rights of individuals and families to make informed healthcare decisions. Let us not be swayed by fear or misinformation, but rather commit to understanding and supporting the needs of all young people in their journey to become their authentic selves.

Participation in girls’ sports and access to women’s restrooms and locker rooms should be based on gender expression and identify with careful collaboration with students, coaches, parents, and other experts to ensure the safety of all involved. This question touches on an issue that request careful consideration and a nuanced approach. Nobody is trying to have masuline, non-trans body join these spaces. In many cases you can't even tell a transgender female was born biologically male. The situation is far more complicated than people led it out to be, and the result is scaring everyday Nebraskans into thinking there's an issue that simply doesn't exist in Nebraska schools

The principle of 'Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's' (Mark 12:17) offers a profound framework for considering the intersection of religious freedom, free speech, and civil rights in contemporary society. This biblical passage reminds us of the importance of distinguishing between our duties to secular laws and governance and our personal religious convictions and practices. In advocating for religious freedom and free speech, it is crucial to recognize that these rights should empower individuals to express their beliefs, including traditional or biblical views on life, marriage, and human sexuality, without infringing on the rights and dignities of others. True religious liberty encompasses the freedom to hold and express one's convictions, while also respecting the diverse tapestry of beliefs and identities that make up our society. Protecting religious freedom means ensuring that individuals can live according to their faith in personal and communal contexts, without facing persecution or coercion. However, it is equally important that this freedom does not become a pretext for discrimination or harm towards others, especially in spaces where civil rights and public services are involved. The challenge and opportunity before us is to craft laws and policies that uphold the sanctity of both religious freedom and equal rights, recognizing that a just society thrives on mutual respect and understanding. Therefore, in conversations about religious freedom and rights regarding views on life, marriage, and human sexuality, let us strive for a dialogue that honors the depth of religious conviction while also affirming the dignity and rights of all individuals, irrespective of their beliefs or identities. By doing so, we uphold the spirit of 'rendering unto Caesar' by respecting the rule of law and the rights of all citizens, while also rendering unto God by living faithfully according to our beliefs in a manner that seeks the well-being of our entire community.

I support the age-verify concept but have deep privacy concerns for ensuring those over 18 aren't providing too much personal information to pornographic websites and would-be hackers.
